All competitive spaces shall have access to locker rooms and supporting spaces, adhering to Title IX requirements. Consideration should be given to visible supervision of all spaces, durability of materials and lockers.  Separate, larger lockers may be required for certain athletic teams.

Physical Education, as well as athletic programs, require specialized labs to provide physical movement learning, variety and safety.  These include Weight Room, Wrestling, and Cardio Labs and are intended to be shared by both Phys Ed classes and Athletic Program Teams.

Training Room (which could also be a part of a CTE pathway) is required.
Concessions, restrooms, and ticket sales or booths should be considered for athletic competitions, as well as spectator seating.  Outdoor batting and golf cages may be required.

Where possible, community use of athletic spaces should be considered, and zoning of after-school use and competitions should be accommodated.

Athletic spaces should have opportunities to showcase school pride and allow for friendly competition between different schools.
