Classrooms shall be enhanced to address specific needs, depending on the school and program. Some self-contained classrooms will need infrastructure for larger lift capabilities and full-time students. Other classrooms will be like standard classrooms but flexible enough to cover different aids and lessons such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, or other specialized resources for students attending intermittently. Classrooms will be able to adjust to small group work and will have variable and soft lighting.

Collab Classroom

Gen Ed classroom that is shared with SPED specialist for complete inclusion learning.  The room should be square, have flexible furniture for various student grouping configurations and a voice amplification system.  It should accommodate lots of movement, teaching everywhere,

District Regional Program Classroom

Desisgned to support PACE program students, furniture should be flexible so desks can be put together for large group work or have a large table that can collapse and move out of the way.  Furniture should allow for wiggling.  It should have zones for calming/self-regulation, group activities and individual work.

Moderate/Severe Classroom

This space supports students that spend majority of time in this classroom.  It should be located near other like classrooms, near to general education classrooms and accessible to an outdoor space.  It should have a SPED restroom (or shared between two classrooms) with space for lift and toilet.

Vocational Lab

Flexible learning space that can be transformed for various activities and hands on learning, including Adult Transition Program (ATP) use.  Possible configurations are tables for art, material assembly, etc; arrangements of shelving for simulated shopping; and mock apartment teaching housekeeping skills. Room equipped with full kitchen.

Sensory / Wellness Room

Provide room with color spectrum control and dimmable lighting. Enhance acoustic separation from adjacent spaces, and include music incorporation and views to nature. This space could also include movement activities.  It could be one larger room but dividable for one side to be more calming and the other physical input/output.

Office/Small Group

Specialist offices shall be equipped with full spectrum lighting, acoustics for privacy, and flexible furniture for a comfortable and calming environment. The function of the space is to provide individual or small group interaction and learning, as well as typical office functions.
